Juhan Nam (KAIST): “MIR for Human-AI Music Ensemble Performance”

Abstract: Human-AI music ensemble performance encompasses a range of music information retrieval (MIR) tasks, including automatic music transcription, score-following, and auto-accompaniment, as well as visual processing for communication. The nature of music performance also poses significant technical challenges, such as real-time processing, robustness to room acoustics and interfering sources, and dynamic adaptation to human performers. In this talk, I will present technical advancements on the topics and highlight examples of stage performances that have incorporated MIR technology.
